The World's Highest Waterfalls

The height of the fall is so great that, before getting anywhere near the ground, much of the water is evaporated or carried away as a fine mist by the strong wind. The base of the falls feeds into the Kerep River (alternatively known as the Río Gauya), which flows into the Churu River, a tributary of the Carrao River
The height figure 979 m (3,212 ft) mostly consists of the main plunge but also includes about 400 m (0.25 mi) of sloped cascades and rapids below the drop and a 30 m (98 ft) high plunge downstream of the talus rapids. While the main plunge is undoubtedly the highest single drop in the world, some feel that including the lower cascades somewhat stretches the criteria for the measurement of waterfalls, although there are no universally recognized standards of waterfall measurement.

Longest Arch Bridge in the World

Chongqing Chaotianmen Yangtze River Bridge is located at 1,2 km of lower reaches from Chaotianmen (the joint of Yangtze River and Jialing River). It is an important passage connecting west and east banks of Yangtze River and facilitating the south bank and the central commercial district in the north of Jianling River in Chongqing City. The total length of the main bridge and both west and east approaches is 1741 m, among which the 932m main bridge is a 190 + 552 + 190 m half-through continuous steel truss arch with tie girders. The lengths of west and east approaches are 314 m and 495 m respectively, both of them being continuous PC box girder bridges (PC = prestressed concrere). Double-level traffic arrangement is adopted with upper deck to be designed in two-way 6 lanes and both side pedestrian lanes, with lower deck in middle two-way municipal light rails and 2 two-way lanes in each side.

St. Louis is known as the "Gateway to the West". Its landmark Gateway Arch is the world's tallest man-made monument. St. Louis was home to T.S. Eliot, Maya Angelou, Tennessee Williams, Chuck Berry, Tina Turner, Miles Davis, Albert King, David Sanborn, Michael McDonald, John Goodman, Kevin Kline, Josephine Baker, Betty Grable, Vincent Price, Buddy Ebsen, Redd Foxx, Shelly Winters, and Marsha Mason.

Jose Rizal

This is the intellectual legacy of rizal that I've going to report nextweek to my subject Rizal............

To The Philippine Youth
English version

Unfold, oh timid flower !Lift up your radiant brow,
This day, Youth of my native strand !
Your abounding talents show
Resplendently and grand,
Fair hope of my Motherland !Soar high, oh genius great,
And with noble thoughts fill their mind;
The honor’s glorious seat,
May their virgin mind fly and find
More rapidly than the wind.

Descend with the pleasing light
Of the arts and sciences to the plain,
Oh Youth, and break forthright
The links of the heavy chain
That your poetic genius enchain.
See that in the ardent zone,
The Spaniard, where shadows stand,
Doth offer a shining crown,
With wise and merciful hand
To the son of this Indian land.
You, who heavenward rise
On wings of your rich fantasy,
Seek in the Olympian skies
The tenderest poesy,
More sweet than divine honey;
You of heavenly harmony,
On a calm unperturbed night,
Philomel’s match in melody,
That in varied symphony
Dissipate man’s sorrow’s blight;
You at th’ impulse of your mind
The hard rock animate
And your mind with great pow’r consigned
Transformed into immortal state
The pure mem’ry of genius great;
And you, who with magic brush
On canvas plain capture
The varied charm of Phoebus,
Loved by the divine Apelles,
And the mantle of Nature;
Run ! For genius’ sacred flame
Awaits the artist’s crowning
Spreading far and wide the fame
Throughout the sphere proclaiming
With trumpet the mortal’s name
Oh, joyful, joyful day,
The Almighty blessed be
Who, with loving eagerness
Sends you luck and happiness
